Great Idea.
@RiceCream: I believe Shizno is referring to weapons found in PvE areas/HoH drops, PvP created weapons would remain as they are now.

That would be great. It would solve so many problems for people using many characters and getting weapons for all their heroes on every single one of them. Pvp characters could switch pve weapons between themselves. I guess it would be more convenient for all players. The only drawback I see is that the current system is a small money sink. Players would need less weapons if it is implemented. I am signed for it.

That would really be nice. I'd love to be able to use customized weapons across chars on my account.

grammar and spelling fixed. at least you used "nor" correctly.
i don't know how long stupid shizno's been playing (it's his guru name i'm not flaming him) but for a large portion of GW's existence pvp weapons have been tradeable and players have been able to place them in storage. i believe this was changed in by NF, don't quote me. In addition, it is possible to transfer the weapons from one PvP character to another by putting the weapons on your heroes.
back on topic its a fine idea for pve land.
i understand i was wrong about pvp->pve

thats because both chars are pvp created. obviously they are unlocked in the wepon creation tab.
thats not the point and is useless. the point you tried making was the idea was bad because you could create a pvp perfect weapon and put it on a pve toon
which cant be done, ever. i been playing since april 05 and tried doing many tricks and hacks to find ways to get pvp stuff over to pve. never could be done. anet wasnt that dumb.
anyways why the hell would you transfer a pvp weapon from pvp char 1 to pvp char 2? just remake it.

the reason you'd consider xfering pvp weps from pvp character to pvp character is for rp skins.
if some 3rd party could give info on the ability to move pvp gear to storage that would be great i distinctly remember attempting to sell my pvp toons gear in LA back in early moneyless days.
I'm going to change my opinion concerning this just for arguments sake. I'm /notsigning this due to the fact that players who do customize their weapons, as they should, would be able to circulate their rarer skinned weapons. Enabling this proposed idea would help kill the economy. players who look to purchase multiple rare skins for their various chars will have no need for the multiple skins except for variant mods MAYBE but the excess of these rare skins in the market will lower their value.

YESSS! I would customize my collection of Wintergreen Spears for more leet dmgz!
Honestly for me it would be enough to make all items customized for a PvP character to be customized for all PvP characters on this account. That's mainly for the RPs rewards which I never bothered with as I reroll PvP chars a lot. The hero trick is too much of a hassle.
Oh and the effect on economy would be rather positive imho - people very rarely buy the same weapon and customize it on various chars. Different chars use and customize different weapons, except shields and foci but those don't need to be customized at all. Instead, an opposite effect will occur - people will actually customize MORE than they do now - more reasons to do so, more characters will take advantage of that, and less fear of items going to be completely wasted if you want to reroll other char.

This. Why you may ask, judging by this post:

Because while PvP cannot go to PvE, PvE can go to PvP while customized allowing you to use a weapon set usually used by a PvE character onto a PvP character. While not truly a big deal, in terms of the bonuses - as you can get almost any mod on PvP weapons (can't get -50 cesta, among other things), and those that you do not customize can be transfered anyways, it prevents both getting unusual mods and the 20% damage mod.
Again, not a big problem, a minor one.
Also, I don't want to see PvP characters acting leet because they were able to get a "cool" skin without any real work in PvP, and have it customized. An innitial skin issue is the BMP weapons.
But that's an anti-e-peen move and therefore unimportant.
So, /signed, Because I want to put the Destroyer Weapons I was "forced" to put on my sin's heroes *was done prior to HoM announcement* onto my Necro's heroes. Pimp them all out!

No, Tormented/Destroyer weapons will show account-wide, but will be customized to a single player, and his/her heroes. Of course, this might change but that is how it was worded.
Edit: Just occured to me that my post might not make sense. I in the middle of writing it, I realized how unnecessary it really is to have the PvE/PvP weapon split. Also, i'm rather tired over here, past three weeks I only got about 1-4 hours of sleep each day.
Anyways, in short:
PvE characters don't get a benefit other then the customization from other PvE characters. PvP characters is the same, but add on different skins. I.e., PvP gets e-peen, PvE gets benefits for multiples of the same profession.
So, I /sign, instead of /halfsign like I was originally thinking of doing.

Its no big deal for customised weapons to be account based though I think it a stupid idea.
I do wonder just how far this making things account based rather than character based will go.
I think the idea came from the fact that storage isn't character based that created the idea of a player who runs toons rather than a player who creates characters who are individuals with separate achievements.
The more the game became a grindfest with the sole purpose of achieving goals with a view to gaining some unspecified reward in GW2 the more requests are made to have something account based.
In my opinion an item is customised by balancing it for an individual, just as all armour in the game is customised to an individual character.
The armour cannot be worn by anyone else because of its size and fit however it should be ok for a customised weapon to be usable by anyone but the bonus to apply just to the person it was customised for.

@ azzel assassin,
the -50hp mod can still be used in pvp, you create it in pve, storage it, put it on pvp char. there you go. this goes for any pve weapon. but see no reason why anyone wants a -50hp in pvp anyways. even gimmick builds dont need it.
@ people who say this will hurt economy
what economy? you buy a mini polor bear for 7mil and merch purps? the game is dead, everyone has some sort of rare weapon these days.
@ people who dont understand pvp
if customized is account based, you still cant make a pvp weapon and put it on a pve char. it wont go into trade, and it wont go into storage
pve weapons are already flooded in pvp. and most of them are customized. my pvp monk has a customized destoryer wand. oh noes! i broke the game
this wont change anything, except the fact that people who customized a really nice wep (maybe a mursaat hornbow from the good old days) can now use it again. they cant sell it, or merch it. its just going to waste on a char they customized it on and dont play anymore.

That's complete bs. Not only can people do it already, but the "work" -- how exactly do you think they got the weapon, eh? eh? Just as much work as you would have to do to get it. Hmm.

let me guess without reading any posts:
I want customization to be...
1) uncustomizable
2) account wide
responses:
1) then dont customize nub
2) /signed
3) some weird scenario arises that is not applicable to the subject and is generally complete fantasy
responses from anet:
1) this shit again?
amirite or amirite?

Customization should be like this:
- For martial weapons, the current one: Martial customization.
- For caster weapons, caster customization.
- Also for off-hand items.
- Account-wide.
- Required to make all properties work (Equippable but only for shows and dye testing). This could be bad for usefulness, but very good for market. No more "I buy until I get something else and sell it then", people wanting to use something would have to customize it, and new drops will always have some use, and rarity won't decrease so much over time.
